Empowering Disability, Embracing Inclusion

Advocating for equality and innovation in empowering persons with disabilities to create a truly inclusive society.

Bumi Setara

Bumi Setara was founded in 2016 by Ni Putu Candra Dewi along with three of her colleagues, Vivi Nuril, Ari Bathilda, and Siska Desiyanti, as a social initiative to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities in Indonesia through scholarship programs. In its second phase, the organization evolved into an intersectional feminist organization focusing on advocacy and empowerment for young persons with disabilities and women with disabilities, with innovation as its foundation.

Our Mission and Approach

As an intersectional feminist organization, Bumi Setara is committed to creating innovations that promote social inclusion and empower persons with disabilities in society.

Vision

To realize an inclusive, equal, and diverse society by ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities are recognized, respected, and protected.

Mission

  • Advocacy: Amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities, fighting for the recognition and respect of their rights.
  • Empowerment: Developing programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of persons with disabilities to foster independence and contribution to society.
  • Social Inclusion: Encouraging a more inclusive society, reducing stigma, and creating equal spaces for all.
